Teething biscuits/snacks

Does anyone have any teething biscuits/snacks that they can recommend for babies?  I have some of the Gerber Puffs that are supposed to dissolve in their mouth (haven't tried them yet) but I was at a GTG where someone had these biscuit things that babies can chew/suck on that also dissolve.  Anyone know what I'm talking about?  Is it too early to start these?  I was thinking it might be nice to have something like that on the plane when we go on our trip in 2 weeks, but wasn't sure if Brady is too young (he'll be 7.5 months).

  • We started with the puffs and yogurt melts. An then cheerios at about 8 months. Most of my friends said they started all of that at about 6 months, but I was really slow letting him try them. I'm probably over cautious with choking risks. Owen liked the teething biscuits ok, but they are really messy. They get all gummy and spread all over, so we never gave him too many if those.

  • Yeah, they are really messy-like a wet cookie that gets everywhere.  We had them a few times, but not until C was 10 or 11 months, I don't think.

But, I was also really slow to start solids.  At 7.5 months, we were only on our 2nd vegetable.

  • Always hated the biscuits. They are so messy. Walmart has these rice biscuits in the baby section that are awesome.I wish I could remember the name of them but they go very quickly. They have two flavors and are thin.

  • Baby MumMums.  LO likes them, and they're not nearly as messy as others.  However, even with no teeth, she can break off huge chunks which she chokes on.  I know, we're a little early with the teething biscuits, but she's REALLY wanting our food!

  • NOOOOO don't take teething biscuits on a plane!  Yuck- those were so messy!  He was covered in dissolved biscuit goo.  But he did love them.  Puffs were his favorite though... he loved those things.  We also did the yogurt melts and he liked those too.  Also, just FYI- Gavin loves those Biscoff cookies that they serve on Delta flights... but ummm, yeah, they dissolve just like the teething biscuits.  I found this out the hard way- with no change of clothes.

  • Messy and sticky and carter got one stuck on the top of his mouth and i thought he was going to choke.  He never had one again.
  • Okay, good to know!  I didn't realize they were so messy, but that makes sense.  I guess if we do any kind of snack we'll stick to the puffs.  We actually gave him a couple tonight and he did really well with them.

  • We just started giving Derek puffs and he loves them! We first tried some kind of biscuit that MIL gave us and it sounds like what everyone else said. It was a gooey rice like texture all over his face, body, and clothes. No thanks.
