E.A.S.Y. question

How do you keep LO awake after they eat.  DD passes out on my boob.  I feel like I should be doing a A.E.S.Y program lol.

Re: E.A.S.Y. question

  • No idea; but I'm very interested to hear others' responses to your questions, as I have the same issue. If there was a AESY program, we'd be all set! Smile

  • While he eats I am constantly rubbing the back of his neck, tickling him, etc to keep him awake.  When he's done and wants to sleep, I change his diaper and that always gets him awake.

  • My experience from DS #! was that the awake period in EASY didn't really work until he was 2-3 months...when he was starting to be more awake and active. At one month he wasn't quite ready for that.

    This.

And at 1 month, their awake time should be about 1 hr including feeding, diapering, burping, playing, and falling asleep (i.e. put them down after 40 minutes awake to give 20 min - avg time - to fall asleep).

Also, the point of EASY is to keep E apart from S, so if you really want to do AESY, at least try to do AEASY, where the A before bed is something short, small, and simple, like a diaper change.
