We're in Delco: Wallingford/Swarthmore/media area. Ideally, I'd like an in-home daycare/nanny share kind of thing. I like the idea of a more intimate learning environment and more flexible schedule. I'm having a super hard time finding any references for these kind of daycare providers. We just moved into the area so I don't have any word-of-mouth rec's. Where is a good place to get recommendations, pediatricians? day-care centers? Anybody know a good in-home daycare? At this point we're open to more reasonably priced daycare centers as well.
Re: Stressed about daycare: Delco
I had sent you a PM a while back with some details about our in-home day care and a couple others we're familiar with. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. We love the place we're at but also know of a few other local places that get good word of mouth.
(We are also in Wallingford, so everything is pretty local.)
My DD goes to "Apple Pie Child Care Center" in Chester Heights ... right off Rt 1 / Valleyview Road... They are super nice and VERY flexible with scheduling. I work 20hrs as a nurse and only really need her there 3x per month when I'm post night shift and needing to sleep. We pay as we go and it's $55 for a full day.
I also really enjoy our pediatrician's practice. All the docs and nurse practitioners are super nice ... its Broomall Peds on Rt 320 in the Lawrence Park Shopping center.
