I am contemplating about going back to work and was thinking of looking for a part time position at a bank for better hours than my current position.
Without making anyone feel uncomfortable I was looking for ideas as far as pay/benefits at different companies. I have a friend that works for Chase as a personal banker and she kind of gave me the low down on tellers info and incentives for opening accounts etc. but I am wondering about other banks.
anyone have any info/advice they are willing to share to help with any decisions. TIA

I worked at M and T Bank while in college as a teller. I hate sales and have HORRIBLE customer service skills so it was not for me. Some people did well with referring customers to open new accounts, but not me. As far as pay...$10.30/hour full time with benefits. Full time was 35 hours I believe, but I believe part time tellers were paid about the same.
Sorry...I hated it...that job showed me I need to be in the back...no interaction with the public.
I work back office at a credit union... I started out as a teller and really the only reason I came to the job in the first place is that the pay was great and full benefits were offered for part time employees... which was wonderful because I was in school at the time.
From what I hear though, we pay above average for our tellers... which is nice for them.
