Is anyone else experience hip pain? I went to my Dr. and he said it was normal and will last throughout the whole pregnancy... It feels like I am going to fall or it will get dislocated... It hurt so bad I cried myself to sleep last night while DH massaged it...
Re: Hip pain
What is RLP?
Here is a link explaining
https://www.womenshealthcaretopics.com/preg_hip_pain.htm
I had something similar between 13 and 17 weeks. it really was awful. all i can recommend is a heat pad or a bath
I'm having hip pain as well. It's different from RLP. At first I thought it was sciatica back in december (when I was about 18 weeks) but now I think it's from the pelvis shifting and getting wider.
My doc wrote me a referral for a physical therapist when I brought it up at the last appointment. I've waited 3 weeks for the appointment, and now it's tomorrow and the dang place will probably be closed because of the snow
.
Which sucks because the last couple of days it's gotten worse and my mobility is becoming restricted, particularly with the uneven icy sidewalks here. For me the pain feels like it's *inside* my pelvic bones, like below my gluteal muscles, so it's really hard to get relief even with a massage.
Definitely see about physical therapy...I've heard that chiropractors are good for back pain for hip pain PT is better. And it can be serious...I've seen people on here write about misaligned pelvises and whatnot.

My hips kill me too. I can not get comfortable at night. I am (was
a runner and I always had hip pain so I don't know if this has made it worse. I try the stretches I did for running but it doesn't really help. I also have butt pain on the right side only which I am told is likely sciatica.
Has anyone tried a pregnancy pillow and does it help at all? I have got to get some sleep! I am exhausted all day!!
For me the pillow helps when I sleep...it keeps things from getting worse.
Unfortunately physical activity exacerbates it...if I walk more than a mile or so in a day (less in the snow and ice) I'm in pain for about 3 days afterwards. Or two weeks ago when I scrubbed the bathroom (I was bending over a lot) I hurt for a day or two after.

Yep...and now it has gone into my pubic bone.
Check with your doc and get a referral for a PT...the exercises I was given from mine do seem to be helping. Basically, your body is stretching itself to prepare, which can push hip bones and pubic bones out of joint. Mine were horribly out of line, so we tried to correct it with some exercises.
Do prenatal yoga! That's what worked to make my hips feel better! There is one stretch in particular... lets see if I can explain it...
Sit on the floor cross legged. Bring the top leg up so your foot is resting on the opposite knee. Then lean forward until you feel a stretch in your hips / thighs. It feels soooooo good and it has certainly helped me sleep better and get through the day with less pain! Of course, do it with the other leg too so you get the stretch on both sides.
