headaches every single day. anyone else?

i get a headache every day.  i had an issue with my epi that was resolved before i left the hospital.  they told me there wouldn't be any lasting effects, so i'm not sure that's the cause.  my OB said hormones and bf'ing could be bringing it on, so maybe that's why?

but ugh!  i don't remember going through this the first time.

  • Me!  I don't normally have too many headaches, but I've had one every day for the past week.  I'm on the verge of calling my doctor...

well, if you do call... let me know what he/she says!  ugh, i am so sick of it.

  • I had one from sleep deprivation and I think the epi for about a week. It finally went away as I started to sleep more. I could see hormones playing a part. Each pregnancy is different.
  • I do but i'm pretty sure it's the minipill doing it.
  • I had a problem with my epi and the first week post-op i had a spinal headache...it was sooo bad I couldnt even take more then 4 steps without crashing to the floor. (It went away when i layed down) SO i did everything laying down. I tried all medicines..pain killers..nothing worked finally called the doc and said I cant take this anymore..so i had to go back to the hospital and they had to take blood from my arm and put it in my back to close a hole in my spine.

With all that said..i hope thats not your problem..if you were in that much pain..you prolly wouldnt be able to look at the computer.

So i would cough it up to hormones trying to balance out or if you started a birth control method.

Just drink lots of water..and even gatorade!

  • For the first couple of weeks I had a headache almost everyday. I think it was a combination of the epi, pitocin and the hormones. I haven't had a headache in about 4 weeks now and so I'm not too worried about them.

i had a blood patch in the hospital.  they screwed up my epi and i had those spinal headaches. i spent the first 24 hrs flat on my back.  could barely even get up to pee without crying from pain.  so i KNOW it's not that.  thank goodness!!!

  • Did you get a blood patch due to the epi? My sister got a "spinal headache" or something like that, and they gave her a blood patch. The headache lasted over a week and she was pretty miserable.

    Hope you feel better!

yes, they used the blood patch to fix the hole left by the epi.  the spinal headaches stopped almost immediately after they patched it up.  it's a very specific headache which for me, occured at the base of my skull and into my neck.  i was leaking fluid so my brain was basically being dragged down into my skull. totally gross and horrific.

the headaches i've had since being home are more the tension headache variety.  but so far today (knock on wood) i haven't had one....

  • I did with DD.  Every day for 2 or 3 months.

It'll get better soon.  ((hugs and ibuprofen))
