Strep B and very sick baby...

My friend delivered her baby yesterday and it turns out she had strep B. They tested her on Friday (she was 40 weeks) and it came back negative. They retested her after the baby started having trouble breathing, etc, and turns out she is a carrier.

The baby is in the NICU now and just had a feeding tube inserted. He has a really high heartrate and won't eat.

Now my question, if you ladies still remember, when were you tested for the strep B? I swear they tested me the first time an internal was done, so maybe 37 weeks?

It just seems odd that it wasn't done until she was being induced...
