At what point did you feel comfortable putting a blanket and/or pillow in the crib for your LO? I know all of my friends with 20months+ all have small pillows and blanket in there with the little ones, but I wasn't sure if that was the 'norm'.
Robinson prefers a pillow and sleeps much better. Most of the time, he shares my pillow with me, but I thought maybe if he had his own that might entice him to sleep in his crib.
I'm not going to lie, part of the reason I'm such a pushover about letting him sleep in our bed is b/c I know he gets cold in his crib (bedrooms are the coldest part in our house and he's not a fan sleep sacks AT ALL) and I worry about him wrapping a blanket around himself. I know that may be silly at this stage, so I wanted to ask when most put blankets or pillows in there with the LO's.

Avery has had a blanket since the day she came home from the hospital. Granted, she was not high risk like Robinson was but she slept better w/ blankets. When she was in the bassinet for the first 4 months, I could tuck them under the mattress so she couldn't cover her face up. but then when she was in the crib, she ONLY wanted to sleep with a blanket over her. She hardly slept at Day Care because she couldn't have a blanket - so I let her.
Now - good grief - the kid has 4 stuffed animals - all of which she LOVES and 2-3 blankets. And...half the nights, the cat sleeps in her crib on her feet (he never did this when she was an infant but now that she's older, bigger and more mobile he does).
But... to answer your question - I think Robinson would totally be fine with a pillow and a blanket. He's a toddler now and I think that the risk of him suffocating without crying for help first is highly unlikely.
Maybe you could even pick out new toddler bedding? or a special character pillow he would want to sleep with? Or even give him your pillow to make him feel more at ease.
