Potty Training- Spring Clothes recs

Planning on pt'ing this Spring/Summer and I'm starting to buy clothes for my B/G twins that are 2.5 yrs old...what do I need to be thinking about?

No zippers/ easy to pull on/off, etc.?

Are dresses or shorts better for girls? What about girl swimsuits? Should I get only tankinis for Kate?

Re: Potty Training- Spring Clothes recs

  • dresses for your girl and no zippers, no buttons, easy pull up and down, nothing that is difficult to get out of (including pj's)
  • Loading the player...
  • Dresses, and tankinis or bikinis. Yoga pants are great, too. Honestly, my kids didn't need those options, though. They were able to continue wearing jeans and stuff--they learn to hold it really quick. I wouldn't base their entire summer wardrobe on potty training--just make sure you have plenty of options for the first few days.
  • I can only speak with experience for a boy, but the shorts with only elastic were awesome.  I know my friends with girls had a little trouble with bathing suits, but not enough to buy a new one.

  • Bottoms wiht elastic waist and dresses/skirts but no tights allowed!!  I only do 2 piece suits for my girls but that is just me as I HATE 1 pieces.  Going to the bathroom is a royal pain with a wet swimsuit so 2 pieces are just easier.  My girls have some pants that have zippers/snaps but they are lose enough that they can pull them down without useing the zipper so that is OK too (they have some elastic in the waist.)

  • See, I'd advise AGAINST dresses. DD pees on hers all the time on the potty.

  • We didn't change her clothes for potty training.  We still help her a bit though so maybe that is why.
