  Ha!  My friends and I were kind of talking during that set of commercials and I was like, wait a sec, that's the controversial ad!

  I spent the entire ad time thinking how much his mom looked like Mary Steenburgen and then I started wondering whatever happened to her and how I havent seen her in anything recently.....I have zero attention span.

  DH and i saw it and we both said, "that was it?!" they made Focus on the Family edit it down a lot.

  Exactamundo... I think everyone went overboard on the "controversy"... seriously, if people need to get their panties all in a twist, they should do so about all the soft-core porn on TV!

  If I had to guess what the commercial was about (not knowing that his mom had considered abortion) I would have guessed that she'd had a high-risk pregnancy or that he had been sick as a child. People drew WAY more attention to the anti-abortion aspect of it than they would have had they just STFU.

  That ad doesn't really bother me.  I feel that both sides (and I am pro-choice) should be able to advertise as they chose.

  I am a lot more bothered by the refusal to air a gay dating commercial.

  That was what the controversy was about! (to us at least) They also dumbed down the commercial a lot, I don't have a problem with anti-choice groups being able to advertise I have a problem with the network denying other sides the same right. .
