Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Regret buying any baby items?

I really regret buying the medela PIS. Mainly because I wasn't able to do the breastfeeding and I have a $300 pump in the closest. I know that I could use if for future children but I really wish I would have just bought a cheap pump and then upgraded if BF would have worked out. Any big purchases or baby purchases in general you wish you wouldn't have bought?

  • The walker. Not because he doesn't use it (he can't really yet) but because we have absolutely no room in the house for the walker.

  • The Miracle Blanket.

She could break out of it, I didn't like the extra "steps" in swaddling, and then she decided she no longer needed to be swaddled. Waste of $30 for us!

  • Pacifiers and swaddle blankets.  DD is a thumb-sucker (has been from the start), and therefore hated being swaddled.  She would grunt until her hand/thumb was free to suck (even in the hospital).  I tried 6 different pacis and she refused all of them.  Needless to say, Happiest Baby on the Block was ineffective for us.  Thank God she is a relatively happy baby!
  • sling, Moby, portable swing, large swing, portable jumpie...he hates everything..lol...

  • My Moby.  Not because I couldn't figure it out, I did and it worked, but I just didn't like it and neither did DS, he's too active, he hated being "worn".
  • Moby, I really tried to like it, but it was just a pain to use and dd didn't like it.

I also wasted a lot of money on bottles since dd refused to eat from one--when we finally found one that dd liked, I bought several packs so that we had enough for daycare.  Well, I ended up finding a different brand that she ate from much better!  I have over 20 bottles at home.

Receiving blankets-everyone said we needed tons.  But the ones we bought from the store were way too small to use to swaddle, so I've hardly used any of them.

  • Receiving blankets - I got about 20 from my shower and kept all of them. Should have returned most of them

Moby - kinda complicated but it's cool once I finally get her in it

Sling - did not work for us

Bedding set - we only use the sheet and bed skirt! Can't use bumpers and quilt right now

  • Moby - but I sold it to another mom, so I guess it went to a good home! :)

Itzbeen Baby Timer- HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!  Was easier to write out when she ate/pooped/slept on the piece of paper that the hospital gave us.
