Babies: 3 - 6 Months

if you've flown w/ LO...how did it go?

I just booked a ticket to visit my fam in a month.  The flight will be 4 hours so naturally LO will miss at least two naps...if you've flown with LO, how did your LO do on the plane, missing naps, etc?  I'm flying by myself...DH will be working;(

  • We just booked tix for April, LO will be 5 months old... I am going to be following this thread closely, wondering the same thing!

Luckily DH will be coming with me... GL on your own! I'm sure people will have some good tips.

  • We flew from California to NY over the holidays and DS did great! We flew on the red eye on the way there, so we gave him his pacifier for take off, and he fell asleep right away and slept the entire flight. On the way home, we fed him during take off and again, he fell asleep the rest of the flight.

  • I've flown a number of times with DD. If you're organized and give yourself extra times, things will work out just fine! DD did very well!

  • We went with DS when he was 9 weeks. He did great. I think he'd do fine at this age too.

  • we flew from omaha to nyc over xmas when LO was almost 3 mo.  he ate and slept the whole way.  made sure to nurse/feed when the altitude changed (to pop his ears) and he basically slept the rest of the time.  GL.
  • We flew to Jamaica at 9 weeks.  Nursed during takeoff and landing and slept the whole time.
  • We've flown twice up to NJ and DD was great both times. She slept most of the flight and then I would feed her when landing.

  • I haven't flown with DD yet, but we are flying next week on a connecting flight for 5 hours (just DD and I). I'm hoping that the white noise of the plane puts her to sleep!! It sounds like most babies seem to go to sleep (fingers crossed). Good luck!
