working BF'ing moms--a ?

What does your evening schedule/routine look like? Specifically, how many times and when do you nurse your LO in the evening? When is bedtime?

Dear Bump: You suck.

Re: working BF'ing moms--a ?

  • pick up DD from daycare around 4:30

BF as soon as we get home - it's kind of our "welcome home" routine

then she'll usually eat every 1.5-2 hours in the evening

at 9pm we start our bedtime routine - bath, chat & massage, then eat the final pre-bed meal around 9:30.

  • I get home around 4 and we get in maybe 4 nursing sessions before bed.  Its usually about every hour, but I guess he misses me and mommy needs all the help with the supply she can get!  Bedtime is around 8pm

  • I get home at 5:30 and she eats between 5:30-6, then again around 7:30-8 after we've done jammies and maybe stories before bed. I like her to be sleeping by 8:30.

  • We get home around 5. I usually will BF him around the time we get home and then again right before he goes to bed. Bedtime is anywhere between 7:30-8.

  • I get home at 6:45.  He has already eaten around 5:30.  His PJs are already on.  I hold him for twenty minutes (occasionally top him off) and put him to bed.  I'm lucky he's a baby who doesnt need a routine bc there is not one.  I get home too late to make it happen and he is either with DH, MIL od my mom - always different. Bedtime is 7pm and I nurse at 3am.
  • I used to choose my sons' bedtime, and really had a hard time getting him asleep. Then (duh!) i realized i needed to follow his cues. He starts rubbing his eyes and getting fussy around 5:30, so that is when we go upstairs to start our bedtime routine. I'm usually done and have him asleep by 6-6:30pm.  I then eat dinner, spend time with my husband.  Then I throw in a load of laundry, clean up dinner, prepare LO's bottles for the next day and prepare whatever i can for dinner the next day (usually put throw food in crockpot in morning so dinner is ready when i get home). And i usually have time left over to watch some tv with my husband before bed.
  • Nurserae when we get home around six then again before bed
  • Feed her around 6, then 7:30ish, then one more time before bed - around 9.

She usually wakes up a couple times to eat too :-(

  • I EP these days, so this probably isn't that helpful

5:30 - pick LO up from DC

    6:00 - bottle

7:30 - part of another bottle, LO bedtime

    9:00 pump

    10 - my bedtime

LO takes about 1.5 bottles during the night and one more in the morning before daycare

  • Well, I've only been at it a week (and today is a snow day!) but what's been happening so far is that we get home around 5:15, and he nurses right away. Then again at about 6:30, then at 7:45-8 before bed.

DH and I have just been stuffing food in our face in between dealing with him so far ... I hope in a week or two we'll be able to work out real dinner in there as well.

He's always been a big evening cluster feeder, and I'm happy to do it now that I don't get to see him during the day. :(
