Mom's intuition about gender?

Hello Ladies,

I have a while until I join you all, but I had a quick question if you don't mind.

How many of you "knew" what the gender of your baby was before it was confirmed? Im just curious about the accuracy of mama's intuition, and how many of you guessed correctly?

Have a wonderful day and happy few more weeks!

Re: Mom's intuition about gender?

  • My intuition was wrong.  DH had it right though!

  • Mine was wrong.  I had no clue what we were having and everyone kept saying boy.  So I started to believe it.  In our case, daddy intuition was correct.  He said from day one that it was a girl.  I was pleasantly surprised Big Smile

  • I really wanted a girl but I don't think I "knew" it was a girl.
  • Mine was right - boy!  DH never had an opinion..up until we knew he pictured the baby as a Cabbage Patch Kid :-p

  • Hubby and I.. and all of our friends and relatives thought we were having a girl.. we were all wrong!
  • My intuition was wrong...I felt that I was having a girl again and we are 100% having a boy.  We were happily surprised though since we already have a DD.
  • I was correct in my assumption

  • I've thought girl the whole time, and had really vivid girl dreams (Not one boy dream/ thought yet!) But we're team green so I'll let you know if I was right in a couple of months =)

  • We were both right.  We knew it was a girl very early on.

  • I was wrong. I didn't know how strong my intuition was until the tech told us it's a girl and I didn't believe her because I thought for sure it was a boy... but I did have a dream the night before the big u/s that someone told me in sign language "it's a girl!"
  • I was right on :) I told everyone from like week 8 that I was 99.99% sure there was a little girl in my belly... no one believed me until ultrasound day [we actually got two to confirm] and we found out for sure.
  • I was wrong.  Although my psychic said I was having a girl a couple weeks before I conceived!

  • "Mother's intuition" is as good as anyone else's guess. You have a 50/50 chance of being right. So, of course people are going to say they were right. In reality - they were just lucky. :)

    This.

    I don't buy it.

  • Mine was right. But it's easily just a lucky guess.

  • I knew from the second I peed on the stick it was going to be a little boy. I don't know why, I just knew it. Here we are having a very much confirmed little boy!!!
  • Mine was right...I always knew it was a girl.

  • I was SO sure, and so was pretty much everyone else, that I was having a girl.  My pregnancy was totally different compared to with my DS, and I even took the intelligender test which clearly said GIRL.  23 week ultrasound definitely said BOY!!! We were shocked, but not disappointed :)
  • I was wrong with both babies.
  • We were all wrong.  Me, DH, both our mothers, and his grandmother all thought it was a boy.  I think DH might have thought boy just b/c I did and I think he believed I would know better.  I think I secretly was hoping for a girl so didn't want to get my hopes up - so that might have influenced my guessing.
  • We were all wrong!!

  • I had about 10 dreams that I was having a girl and sure enough, I am!
  • We were sure, as well as everyone else in our families that we would have a boy, and we were all correct.

  • Every single other person I know told me I was having a boy but I knew she would be a girl and she is!
  • I had a couple of baby dreams and in my dreams she was always a she... and she is! I would have been shocked if they'd told me I was having a boy!
  • I "knew" he was a boy, but I had a 50/50 shot, so I'm not all that impressed by my intuition.
