2nd Trimester

So, who's still using their Bella?

I'm still wearing all my regular pants with the bella band (I do have a pair of mat jeans that I wear though). I'm still too un-pregnant looking to wear mat clothes but was wondering how you all are doing in the clothing dept? Are you in-between or full-time maternity? I'm hoping not to have to make a complete changeover but maybe that's wishful thinking!

Re: So, who's still using their Bella?

  • I am!  If I try to put on maternity pants they sag and fall down, lol

Just waiting for this belly to pop out!

  • Loading the player...
  • i'm still wearing mine! i finally broke down and bought some maternity jeans over the weekend.. but can still fit into my reg jeans...

maternity seem to be more comfy!

  • I am not a fan of regular pants and the bella, I felt like it gave me a muffin top. Although most of my jeans fit like gloves. At this point I am in maternity jeans but wearing the bella band on them to hold them up (works great) since maternity jeans stretch and then fall down without it. I cant wait to be in my favorite pair of sevens again, more then wine or sushi, I want my jeans!!

  • still in regular pants...the maternity ones fall off. I wear mostly maternity shirts because my boobs got so big they make my regular shirts short..they're all really loose in the stomach though. I still wear my regular sweaters and sweatshirt. If I didn't have maternity clothes from DD I definitely could get away with just regular stuff. You'll probably be able to get away with only one season of maternity clothes instead of winter and spring so at least thats something :)
  • Yeah, I was never a big fan of the bella band with unbuttoned regular pants. I think my stuff may have been too low-rise or something.

Although now that I'm getting bigger I'm totally attached to the bella band, it provides really nice support to my belly, and the band covers the gap between maternity tops and pants as I expand...

  • I only use the bella band with my "big pants". You know the ones that were either too good to pass up even though they were a bit big or you wear on days when you felt bloated pre preg? My "normal" pants haven't fit comfortably with the bella band in at least 3 weeks. Which is when I started wearing maternity pants too. It's not that I really need them yet, but gosh are they comfy and don't pinch at the end of the day when I feel most bloated. I have a feeling the regular pants will be done with in another 2 weeks.

Oh and when I do wear the bella band I still use a rubber band to keep the button closed, it seems to give the pants a slimmer profile under the band.

  • I bought my first pair of mat jeans around 18 weeks, just b/c my regular pants were getting too uncomfortable with the BeBand. However, the mat jeans I bought were the full panel, and I didnt have enough belly to hold them up, so I was using the BeBand to help do that...but it was still a pain. So, I went out and got the mat pants that have the elastic on the side of the waist but still look like regular pants and LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

  • I'm in-between, but never was able to find a Bella.  I just bought some comfort fit pants from Reitmans and am wearing those full time now!  Maternity pants still don't fit very well, they just look silly on me.  I am hoping to find some maternity pants when we go to NY this weekend, even if they don't fit yet, I'm sure they will in a month or so.
  • I have one pair of pants - more dressy, that I use the bella with. Other than that, I need maternity.
  • I'm wearing mine still.
  • LOL I'm still using my bella bands with regular pants. At this point, I'm thinking I'm just not going to buy any maternity pants. My pants situation consists of leggings, one pair of maternity yoga pants (which I love!) and my normal jeans/dress pants that I wear with bella bands. They work great for me, and are a heck of a lot cheaper than buying more pants!

  • I got two pairs of mat jeans for the same price as a Bella Band. They're a little big right now and I still can get some of my super low rise pants buttoned for work, but I'm comfortable and that's all I really care about.

  • still using mine.  I'm not buying new work pants.  I'm just not.
  • I can only wear maternity to work because my suit pants are just too high waisted.  But, I use my bella with jeans all the time on the weekends!

  • I'm still wearing mine - I don't have any maternity jeans yet (although my first pair is in the mail!) and I wear jeans often.

I did find my first pair of maternity pants from the gap which I love - I need to hem them, but they have the hidden piece of elastic so you can make your pants as small or as big as you want them.  They are still about 1-2" too big, but with the hidden elastic, they fit great!!!

  • I'm almost 16 weeks and I'm actually down in weight since my first appointment.  I have no belly, I've dev. some flab (the dreaded pouch), but I can still flex and see some of my abs.

My problem is I've already gone into Relaxin producing overdrive and my hips and ribcage have spread BIG TIME.

I could conceivably wear some of my pants with the band, but it got a little ridiculous last week so I bit the bullet and got maternity pants this weekend.  It's so much better.  I do use the bella to keep the sagging under control.

  • I have to wear my Bella over maternity pants or they fall down.
  • I'm still using mine with regular pants too.  I have some mat jeans but they're too big.

  • I am.  I either wear it with pre-preg pants (like today) or with my full panel mat pants (to hold them on better).
  • I'm still in regular pants with the band, but probably should've purchased some maternity pants by now because everything is feeling a bit snug.....

  • I'm still in normal jeans with maternity/loose shirts. I'm not ready for maternity jeans quite yet.
  • I couldn't stand the bella band. I'm a size 8 and found the bella band would roll up, like it was casing and I was the sausage... I was always tugging it down.

At 15 weeks I tried on a couple of pairs of Gap maternity jeans in store (no panel, demi and full), and fell in love with the full panel long and lean. Bought a pair and never looked back. Wouldn't have thought I'd be a fan of full panel pants, but these babies never fall down and are super comfy. The panel has also held up well to machine washing.

I am hoping I can do this too!! NOT a fan of maternity pants!!

  • I am still wearing my pre preg clothes too with my BeBand. I tried to find some mat pants this weekend but hated everything I tried on...so I will wait a few more weeks to see if the mat pants will fit then.
