3rd Trimester

When did you start washing clothes and

did you use regular detergent or Dreft (or other similar baby detergent)?

Re: When did you start washing clothes and

  • I started a month ago b/c I dont trust DH with the washing machine and I am at risk for going on full bedrest.  I use Tide free and clear

  • I started yesterday.  I used Dreft because I got some as a gift at the babyshower.  I was going to use All Free and Clear, that's what we normally use on our clothes as well.

  • I used Dreft to wash LO's clothes.  And then dryed on low without a dryer sheet.

  • I washed all mine a couple of weeks ago,  I had a lot bc I had everything from DS plus things that a friend gave me from her DS.  I used Ivory Snow to wash them all.  Then after that I will just wash them with Sunlight like I do all of our clothes unless DS #2 gets a rash or anything from the soap.  DS#1 was fine with that so we will do the same this time.

  • I started around 27 weeks and used All Free and Clear. It is VERY nice to have them done early and not have to worry about it now that I'm bigger.
  • I used our regular Tide and rinsed twice.
  • I washed them at 37 weeks and used All Free and Clear.
  • I started last weekend, I have one more load to do sometime this week then we're done, for now =)
  • I did after my baby shower.  We used All free and clear.
  • Well, I've done all the bedding and blankets...and was going to start on clothes this week while I'm snowed in.  But my washing machine won't drain!  We think the pipe is iced--DH is going to try to fix it today.  I'm very very nervous that if he comes, the poor kid won't have anything to wear!

I use Method Free, with one Method Baby dryer sheet for every two loads.

  • I did last weekend, because that was when the dresser got put together and I finally had some place to put them.  I used Arm and Hammer Free.

  • I just washed her clothes this weekend.  I only washed her newborn and 0-3 stuff for now with the free and clear detergent and no drier sheets.

  • Yesterday Smile We didn't use Dreft, just the hypoallergenic detergent that we already use on our clothes. I have incredibly sensitive skin so anything with fragrance or dyes wouldn't be used in our house anyway.
  • we switched to all free & clear for our clothes and the baby's.

I did this exactly.  I started on Friday because I've been on modified bedrest.  I've already done 4 loads (0-3 months, blankets, burp cloths, etc.)

  • Today, and I am using Dreft Smile  It smells like liquid baby, I love it!
  • I have been washing clothes as we have received them. I just throw them in with our regular laundry and I use All Free and Clear. Much cheaper and I have sensitive skin so I have been using it for years.
  • i washed everything last week, after my baby shower.  I just used All Free & Clear.  We didnt use Dreft because we have an HE washing machine, and the Dreft isnt compatible with our washer.

  • I haven't washed mine yet, but I bought the HE Tide that has no dyes or perfumes.  In our birthing class, the instructor said that Dreft can be irritating to a lot of babies because it has fragrance in it so I figured I wouldn't bother with it.
  • Clothes are in a pile on the floor waiting to be washed.  We use Dreft.

  • The day before we were admitted to the hospital (which was a surprise), so 37 weeks 4 days. My aunt came over and folded all her clothes and put them away (they only made it to the dryer). I'd recommend a little earlier. ;)

  • I've done them as I got them.  Most have gone in separate baby loads, but I did do a few things in our regular loads (I switched our own detergent over as soon as I started washing baby things to Arm & Hammer Free).

  • As soon as his closet looked full, I washed his clothes haha.  We used Tide Free, I can't stand the smell of Dreft.

  • I washed the clothes and sheets about 2 weeks ago and I used Gain.  I hope that will be ok.  I guess we'll see.
