Hey mamas! I just found out that I am four weeks pregnant and I have a four months old at home. The babies will be 12 months and 2 weeks apart. Is there any one out there who has gone through this? Do people give you a lot of crap for having two kids so close in age? I guess I am just looking for someone to tell me we are going to be okay!!
Re: Any one have Irish twins??
i dont, mine will be 18 months apart. But I wanted to say it will be okay. I know I dont have my second yet, but just like our first children--we will adjust and get through the tough times.
Congrats!!! I have a friend who has the same situation and she loves it. The kids will grow up so close together, they will always have each other.
Congrats! And have fun dealing with the winking eyes and cracked jokes like "don't you know what causes that" and other comedic gems.
My kiddos are 11 months apart. DS was due on DD's birthday, but he decided to come early. I won't lie; it was tough at the beginning. The bright side is it gets better. DD is very helpful when it comes to helping with her brother. It also helps they are both mobile and DS loves to chase his sister around the house. 98 percent of the time they play wonderfully together. I won't describe the other two percent
.
I'm close - 13 months apart. It's not as difficult as I imagined it would be - everything will be ok! You have awhile now to start planning how you're going to do things
I wouldn't say people gave us "crap" necessarily, but we got a lot of "wow!" and "you're crazy!" and my personal favorite "was this PLANNED!?" I would prepare for that. Mostly people just seemed glad it wasn't them, haha.
Our boys are 13.5 months apart, so not quite Irish twins but close. It was really hard in the beginning for me, but we also don't have family closeby which I think makes a huge difference. It is getting so much better now though. It is so amazing how much they adore each other already. We got a lot of the "You didn't waste any time" comments, but oh well. You will be fine, but I won't say you won't be challenged.

mine are going to be about 11 months apart, I like this question!! I too am pretty scared and have gotten a little "crap". "youre crazy!!" "i would never do that!" it hurt at first, but Im over it now.
I agree with the PP, me and my sister are 18months apart, and my bro.is 4 yr younger than me, DEFINITELY a lot less pictures of my brother. He grew up to be a little..er, weird. Not that pictures plays a huge part or anything, but I fully intend on neither of my kiddos ending up like him, and try to play/treat/discipline both kids exactly the same.

Mine are going to be 11 months apart.
I know it won't be easy, but we are excited that our family is growing.
