    Here is my message:

     First I just want to say that the photos you take are incredible!  RJ is such a cutie!!  My question is what lens are you primarily using when you are shooting your photos of him at home?  Is it the 35mm? We are trying to decide between the Canon 35L vs 24-70L.  Thanks so much!

    I just read it. I can read them, I just can't reply because TB has issues and 'quick reply' doesn't work on the iPhone. To answer your question, I don't have a 35mm. I have a 50mm f1.4 and I often rent the 50mm f1.2L (will try the f1.0 soon!!). I LOVE LOVE LOVE my 24-70L. Best purchase ever! But in house it still doesn't have enough light... and the 1.4 blurs the messy background a lot more (much needed). So I use the 50mm. Often, even when we go out (not with the intention of taking pictures but not wanting to miss a possible shot) and I don't want to drag my camera bag. I can't fit my mkII with the 24-70 in my purse (I could, but it doesn't look nice :P), so I just bring the 50mm. I *could* do without the 50mm but I would never doubt the purchase of the 24-70.

    Thanks for the info.  We also have the 50mm 1.4 and I use it all the time!  We also have the 70-200 F2.8 IS but we wanted another lens to use indoors.  He rented the 24-70 so now we are trying to decide between that and the 35mm.  I told him I would go with the 24-70 since we already have the 50mm.  He liked the 1.4 fstop on the 35mm.  Again, so your pics are beautiful!  Thanks again!

    If you already have the 50mm I would definitely go with the 24-70. You can always get the 35mm later on. I would want a zoom and the 70-200 is just too big to be used in house. JMO :) And thank you!! :) btw, you can "spy" on me by looking at the EXIF data on my pictures, I never take them out.
