IV scar?

Anyone still have a little scar on your hand from the IV?  I'm really pale, so I'm starting to wonder if that's why I can still see mine.  I kinda like it though--it's like a constant reminder of the day my LO was born. Smile

Re: IV scar?

  • On your hand?  They put mine in the side of my arm.  Holy hell it hurt. It's a good thing I don't have a scar from it, let me tell you.

  • I totally understand. I'm covered in scars from needles from giving blood so often.
  • Yeah, it's on the top of my hand.  I think that was the worst pain of the day (after the epi helped the contractions!).  And stupid me was so out of it when they asked what hand to put it in...I had no clue so I said the right hand.  Well, that's my dominate hand, so every time I moved my hand it hurt like crazy.
  • So funny, i did a totally natural birth, but that dumb IV scared me!  Go figure.

Yes, I do have a small scar.

  • Yep. And mine has a little bump under the skin, maybe scar tissue?, and its still sore when you press on it...so I try not to.  :)

    Same here!

  • I have 4 scars on my arms and back of my hand from IVs. One from each hospital stay during my pregnancy with the twins. I'm so glad to be past that, but it is a reminder of what I did to get them here safely and how much I loved them before they were even born.

  • Just looked and yep! A tiny little white line.
  • yup mine is still there too. I've had IV's before and the mark eventually fades, but it takes months and months for it to disappear on me.

  • I have several scars.  This was my arm on day 4.  By day 6 my entire arm was one giant green, yellow and blue bruise.  The worst part is it stayed that way for almost 9 weeks.

Due to HELLP I had needles of every size going in several times a day.

  • I don't have one on my hand, but I have one on either forearm from the IV's.

On another note, I have tiny red dots from injections I received before having stitches over 5 years ago between my thumb and index and pinky and ring fingers!
