The most likely scenario? Pregnancy induced Carpal Tunnel syndrome. The position of the wrists and hand while driving is a known trigger. Typing makes it worse too
Obviously if it gets worse or you develop other symptoms, it's worth a call to the doctor but it should get better on it's own with rest and you can mention it at your next appt. If it bothers you, they have those little wrist thingies that some nesties have had to wear during their pregnancy.
taytee is always so on it! my sister had that- some of it came back after the girls were born, but areas are still numb. she had to go in for a nerve conduction test to see if the nerves were permanently damages (thankfully they arent!)
I have this too; It's gotten better towards the end of my pregnancy, but 2nd tri was really bad. I would wake up in the middle of the night with pins and needles in my left hand and would have to walk around to 'un-numb' my hand.
i had pretty bad CT (abbreviating because i'm not sure how to spell it and don't want to look it up :P ) my last pregnancy. to the point i couldn't hold a pen! i told the ob and he gave me braces to wear on both wrists (very sexy), and they definitely helped bcse i noticed the pain was way worse when i went without. i've had to use them a few times off-and-on this pregnancy.
ask about it at your next appt. the braces were free for m - he had them there at the office. guess that tells us how common it is.
