I have no idea. We don't own a scale & my midwife doesn't tell me my weight unless there's some concern. Weight is the last thing to be worrying about unless something is wrong, so I don't even bother knowing.
I was worried that I wasn't putting enough on because I was underweight to begin. I've put on about 8 lbs. at 16 weeks. I'll talk to my dr. at my next appt.
Then I hit 20 Weeks and when I went to the Dr. at 24 Weeks I had gained 10 lbs in a month!!! - Due to growth spurt, getting used to a new (hot) climate, and sodium in-take.
And I have now gained 2 lbs since then. I guess the weight spurt got the ball rolling for "normal weight gain..."

This. My midwife only keeps track of weight if I want her to. If you eat healthy, you will gain a healthy amount of weight.

Why would you bring it up if they're not concerned? If you were underweight to begin with then 8lbs sounds totally reasonable to me.

Maybe she is trying to make sure she is gaining enough?
My Dr. didn't want me getting pregnant again until I had gained at least 10lbs before ttc. I didn't, and now we are cosntantly worried about my weight. (Both the dr. and myself) I have gained a total of 8lbs which we both think is great, but it's the after math we are both really concerned about. I lost the extra 10lbs after DS was born and I looked like I had an eating disorder. I lost the majority of my hair-and my face was sunken in. It's a long battle for us, and we are wondering if nursing is even worth it for us, since it takes such a toll on my body.
At my 12 week check up, I had not gained from my starting weight. At my 16 week check up, I had gone up 3 pounds. Due to this snowed in weather, I feel as if I have gained three pounds just today I am ready for Spring so I can get out and do more stuff!
I've gained 14 Lbs in 17 weeks. I'm doomed to start with since I lost over 60 Lbs last year eating low carb. I'm counting calories and eating a balanced diet. I'm just in for it. I hope to gain no more than 1 Lbs a week, let's hope that is what happens.
At 23 weeks I had only gained 1 lb, but my doctor wasn't worried about it. She told me I'd definitely gain over the next few months. My next appointment is Thursday. I'm sure I've gained at least 10 lbs. this time. We'll see.
