Statement from Jenny McCarthy

Re: Statement from Jenny McCarthy

  • Well of course I have to believe a doctor who shares all of the results from his groundbreaking medical research with Jenny McCarthy before sharing it with the world.  Duh.

  • She slays me. Seriously. Thanks Jenny, but I'll stick to receiving medical information from a licensed professional - not a former playmate.

    LOL!! ditto this

  • She's an assshole.  And she's made Jim Carrey into one.
  • What a clueless a$$hole.  Seriously.

I'd like to get some science backed up by Jenny and become famous.  Apparently her standards are pretty freaking low.  I could probably get her to give me an honorary MD from her school of Quackery.

  • She is a nut job.  I live 2 miles from the CDC.  I know several people who work in vaccine research, including medical doctors.  Guess what?  They vaccinate their little people.  Does someone really think they would do that because "evil" big pharma doesn't want the mostly generic vaccines (read, not money makers) to come under scrutiny?  It would probably benefit big pharma if they did because then they could come up with new ones that were not generic.
  • I couldn't even read the whole article. She is a moron and her rantings are almost comical.

Precisely!  MH and I have reminded our close friends (who haven't vaccinated their almost 3 y.o. AT ALL) that there's a reason why people in third world countries beg for vaccines!  To each his own, but when asked "Why do you choose to deny your child of any and all vaccines?" the reply, "We just don't want to expose him to all the crap the vaccines are made of unless or until we know he's strong enough to handle it." just doesn't cut the mustard IMO.  When I forwarded an article on the recent retracted "research" to our friends, I got a very passive aggressive "If it doesn't pertain to the upcoming Super Bowl, I so don't want to hear it!" response from her on FB.  Haha, you just can't tell some people nothin'!!!

Errrrrr, while I agree with you in THEORY here, I feel the need to remind you that this is THEIR child, and therefore THEIR decision.  I don't agree with it, but it is each individual parent's right to choose whichever way they see fit.

But it is everyone's business because vaccines aren't just about protecting the individual who gets the vaccine.  It is also about protecting children who aren't old enough to get vaccinated or who have compromised immune systems and can't get vaccines at all.  Occasionally children who are vaccinated lose their immunity.  And there is no guarantee that the vaccinations grant immunity for the duration of our ever-expanding life expediencies meaning older people are at risk as well.

Unlike most other parenting debates (WOHM vs. SAHM, CIO, BF, etc) this one actually has a tangible affect on the community, and so I do think we are entitled to speak our mind and push our agenda.

  • I'm not disagreeing AT ALL with the point of view . . . I'm just saying that it's not her place to tell her friend what she should do with her own children.  I agree that kids SHOULD be vaccinated, but I do not in any way, shape, or form endorse sticking your nose into someone else's parenting (barring the obvious of course, abuse, neglect, etc.).
