How many of you were planning on a natural childbirth? I went into this pregnancy wanting to go natural, since I went natural with DS #1. I did not have the option of drugs the first time. DS #1 came very quickly. I left work at 12pm and had him at 2:40pm.
Just wondering what others experiences were.

I'm not 0 - 3, but thought I could share:) My first, I went natural (or, rather, med-free - I also had an episiotomy and vacuum - super fun...). My second, I did not, although I had planned to go med. free. They were completely different labours and although the second was technically a quick easier labour, it was much more painful and I wanted to push when I was only 3 cm dilated.... an epi. seemed like a good route to take

We planned a natural birth. I was hoping to go without any IVs at all, but I ended up GBS+.
I woke up having contractions, and by the time my midwife arrived I was already 5cm dilated. We went right to the hospital, and a total of 6 hours of labor and DS was born. My midwife had to break my waters, and we technically should have waited another 10 minutes because I was supposed to have the antibiotics in me for 4 hours.
Oops!
I strongly agree! We planned to go natural and took Bradley classes. Not completely our style, but the classes gave us a lot of good things to think about as well as time to practice 1st stage labor (GREAT experience... I wouldn't have practiced if it had been up to me, but I'm so glad we did). The Bradley classes plus an excellent doula are the reasons we were able to have our daughter med-free.
