Crib Mobile? Are They Used?

I just asked about the diaper stacker, now I have a question about the mobile. I am getting ready to order the bedding and wasn't sure if I should order the mobile as well. Do you actually use it? I had DD 11 years ago and I have forgotten what I actually used. Thanks again!

Yes, we did use it a lot. DS enjoyed it a lot and even now he turns it on by himself

. His was with hanging animals so when he started standing in the crib he even loved to hot them Stick out tongue

. I always felt that its one safe distraction for little babies in the crib.

I thought you weren't supposed to use a mobile because of the risk of objects becoming detached and falling into the crib... Is that still the general consensus? Or is it something nobody worries about anymore?

my son loved his. In fact, it was the only way I could get two minutes to myself sometimes.

I'm not worried about this, if you install/attatch it correctly this shouldn't be an issue.

I loved the idea of the mobile and would have used it a lot...but it didn't fit on my crib. The mobiles are a standard size gripping onto the crib and if you have a thick top (like a sleigh bed crib), it won't stay in place. I was really disappointed and would have chosen a different crib if I had known.

I have sleigh bed crib and a FP Precious Planet Projection Mobile and it fits fine - I put it on the ends of the crib....Natalie loves it:) It attaches via a clib intead of one of those grippy crank style ways...it's also adjustable!
