2nd Trimester

anyone having trouble sleeping?

I have not slept well the last 2 nights.  I am so tired, and even fell asleep on the couch last night, but once I go to bed I can't fall asleep or I wake up alot. It seems like I can't get comfortable no matter what I do.

Anyone else?

  • Yes-yes-yes...it is driving me crazy. Exact same thing.

  • ME!! I had the worst insomnia when I was pregnant with my first but it definitely was not this early.  I hope this is just a phase because I am exhausted.
  • Me too! But a small pillow (like one from the couch) between my legs does wonders!

  • Oh yea, def. having some insomnia issues lately. It's either I can't fall asleep, or I'm waking too much, or I wake and can't go back to sleep for 2 hours. Then once I do fall asleep, I sleep too late in the morning and wake up tired from over sleeping. Ugh, endless circle lol.

  • I had one of those last night!

I couldn't get comfortable (kept tossing and turning), my back was hurting, my bladder was on a roll last night, and to put the icing on the cake, I felt a huge knot on my left calf that hurt sooo bad :( I couldn't even move my leg.

Luckily, i'm not dying of sleep at work today but then again not doing a whole lot of working LOL. I'm browsing baby stuff online.

  • Wednesday night was the best night's sleep all week. Besides being uncomfortable, no matter how many pillows I gather around me, I also have a DH that laughs, talks, giggles, and mutters in his sleep. No matter the volume, it always wakes me up. And having to get up during the night to pee...more than once some nights. *sigh*

At least I know there is a happy ending for all this come end of July! :o)

  • I've been having problems sleeping for the past few weeks.  My hips get super sore from laying on them and my legs keep getting cramps in them!  Add in crazy dreams and there you have the equation for a crappy night's sleep.  Enjoy!

  • Yes...I flip back and forth with my body pillow WAY more than I want to and am not getting satisfying sleep.
  • It also doesn't help the situation when I am lying there awake and DH is snoring...making it even more impossible!

  • Yes! I usually wake up 3-4 times a night because I am uncomfortable. I'm not even getting up to pee its just my dang body aching!

  • I've always been a bit of an insomniac, but it's gotten worse this pregnancy

this! but sometimes I wake him up and I'll tell him "hey, it's both of us that are pregnant" :) There are times that sciatic nerve pain kicks in and I don't know what to do with myself.

  • I was having nights of being awake for several hours at a time.  I told my doctor and she said it's safe to take Tylenol PM or Benadryl at times like that.  She said my body needs the sleep right now and laying there awake, worrying, stressing about not sleeping, etc. is worse for you and the baby than taking that medicine and sleeping well.  Just a thought...
  • Me last night!  Woke up at 3:45 and couldn't get back to sleep...ugghhh!
