OMG.... y'all... I can't deal w/ this any more...

yesterday MIL was over and she told me that my neice and nephews do not wear pajamas to bed. no, they are not naked... they just wear the same clothes they wore to school and day care to bed that night!

I am appalled! I asked about bath night (they give them a bath every other day or so) and she said that they just put them in "street clothes" - meaning knit pants (niece), Sweat pants (boys) and t shirts... this is what they wear to school every day anyways.

My niece is 7 years old and her entire wardrobe consists of leggings or knit pants w/ t shirts and crocs. That's it. She is so disheveled looking all of the time because my SIL cuts her hair and let's just say that SIL needs to go back to beauty school. Her bangs are all wonky and uneven - and she has a LOT of bangs - like the ones that start at the middle of her forehead.

the boys - twin 3 year olds - wear sweat pants and tshirts all of the time. No khakis or jeans or anything like that - sweat pants...and crocs. one of them even wears my niece's hand me down crocs that are LAVENDER!!!! SIL also cuts their hair and they look like their head was tossed in a lawnmower. it's TERRIBLE.

UGH! and... it's not that they can't afford other clothes, or hair cuts. My SIL is a Lead engineer for NASA and BIL works for the city as a water run-off engineer. They probably make at least $300k a year.

I am just in absolute amazement and shock right now.

I'll be the first to admit that we keep DD in footie pjs most days, but, 1) she's a BABY and 2) we very rarely leave the house. I could even see them sleeping in sweats/leggings and t-shirts...but the same ones they wore all day?! Ew...that's hard for the germophobe in me to understand. When we do leave the house with DD, we change her clothes almost as soon as we walk back in the door. Of course I also spray her diaper bag, carseat, stroller etc down with Lysol once we get home too...so maybe it's just me...
