Hello!
I've been lurking for a few weeks and finally took the time to join!
I was wondering what you ladies thought of the name Kaiden. It's to be pernounced as Cayden, but the C and Y make it look feminine in a way to me. I've seen this spelling of it before so it can't be extremely unusual. I love the name and DH and I are pretty set on it, but thinking about it now will his name be misspelled or mispernounced for the rest of his life? Honest opinions are appreciated. TIA!
Re: Intro and Is this "you-neek" spelling?
When I first read it, I said to myself "kay-den"... pretty sure how you intended.
Its a cute name

Personally, I'm staying far, far away from any names I associate with the -aden explosion. I think in 10 years from now, they'll sound very dated and so "2000's".
But, if you love the name for a boy (and it sounds like you do), I'd spell it Caden. Leave the Y out, it's unnecessary. Caden is actually welsh in origin and means warrior. (I used to love the name for a girl before the -aden explosion, so I looked it up ages ago).

The "Aiden" explosion is a good point. I almost wish any other name would appeal to us, but we've been through 1000's of names and have kept coming back to Kaiden. My big worry is when he sends an application to Harvard (cross my fingers haha) that his name will look cutesy or be judged because of the spelling. I just don't want to end up with an Ilizabiyth/ Elizabeth (Yes I've had a client with her name spelled like that and she lived up to the stupid name = stupid person stereotype and then some).
If we have a boy he will be Caden Brian-
Hubby is Welsh and that is why we chose it.
We went through TONS of lists of boys names and that was the only one we agreed on- though I loved Garrett but it is an exboyfriend's name and DH said no.
