Since I am a Spanish speaker, it looks very, very weird to me with an "i." The classic spelling is Clara. Also, it seems like it would alter the pronunciation in English, from Clah-rah, to Claire-ah.
Ditto- it looks misspelled and it makes me say "how do you pronounce that?".
It just seems pointless to add in the extra i.
Really? Even though you know how to pronounce the name Claire? It's just Claire with an "uh" sound on the end.
OP - I like the traditional spelling of the name Clara, but I don't think your spelling is all that bad. It's not like it's some crazy variant that doesn't make sense.

Re: Claira? (spelling)
the "I" in claira is unnecessary and looks odd. i'd go with clara, but it's your kid's name so spell it however you like

That spelling makes it seem like you want it to be pronounced differently. Sorry, I'd go with Clara Jane.
It's not out there, but I personally don't like variant spellings. So I'd go with just Clara.

I say Clara, but that's because that's my daughter's name.
I actually know a Clara Jane. I think it's a common name combo.
