My son slept better when he was a few weeks old. Even last week he slept better, waking up at 3:00 and 6:00 am like clockwork. We started a bed time routine that he seems to be used to and falls asleep between 10 and 11 every night. I'm not kidding you--now he is up 3-4 times during the night for about an hour each time, and I have NO idea what to do. Here is what our night looked like last night:
Asleep at 10:30
Awake at 1--back in bed at 2
Awake at 2:45--back in bed at 6:30 am (seriously)
Awake at 8:15
So far tonight:
Asleep at 10:30
Awake at 1--back in bed at 1:45
Awake at 2;30--and he's still awake
I don't know what to do and can't stop crying. I don't even know if he's hungry when he wakes up, but he wants to nurse ALL the time. He comfort nurses and refuses a pacifier. He's got reflux, so we put him in a swing to sleep. Worked great for the first few nights, not so much any more. He wakes up crying and wanting to nurse. When I stop him from nursing, he screams louder. We tried cosleeping, but he wants to nurse the entire night and when he realizes he's not latched on any more, he wakes me up by rooting and suckling the entire night. My DH needs to get a decent night sleep to be functional at work the next day. I have no idea what to do. People recommended the 5 S's--they don''t work. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!! ANY help would be appreciated.
Re: I DO NOT know what to do! Pls help!
I would give it a couple more days, could be a growth spurt.
If you think it might be the reflux acting up, then I would put a call in to the pedi about either starting him on meds or whether or not you need to up the dosage if he's already on them.
That's where I would start.

I'm thinking growth spurt too.
Try keeping him awake more during the day, that might help him sleep better during the night and try giving him extra milk during the day.

Too busy to update the pics for now ...
My little one has been in a weird mode too.. she will go 4 nights, only waking up once, and then have a string of nights where she is up fussing every 20 minutes.. I go in, give her her pacifier and she is back asleep for another 20 minutes...
For me- I think it's time to use some sleep training methods. I too feel like I am getting less sleep now then when she was up 3 times a night..
Let me know if you find something that works!
My baby STTN, 6-10 hrs, from weeks 3 to 9 and then she stopped.
She would only sleep in her car seat, then she started chewing on her hands, drooling a lot, and being fussy at the breast. I thought she was teething. Both my husband and I cut our first tooth this early.
I called the pedi and they sound it sounded like an ear infection. She had no fever and was acting like herself during the day so I thought they were wrong. I brought her in though and sure enough she has an ear infection. Since being on antibiotics and tylenol she is back to sleeping 6-10 hrs a night.
I am not saying your baby has an ear infection but just telling my story. Too bad they cannot tell us what is wrong!
My little guy did something very similar to this last week and I posted about it, too. Up constantly and wouldn't go back down for 1-2 hours, only to wake back up again. It sucked. A lot. It lasted about a week and the last couple nights he's back to where he was - up every 2-3 hours, but only to quickly eat and go back down (fingers crossed it continues). He actually dropped his 10:30 feeding the last two nights, so we'll see if that continues as well.
Fingers crossed that it's over soon for you!
