That's true. The nurse tried to tell me at delivery that there was just one placenta (and she showed it to me; it did look like one) but on u/s earlier on they had always said they were di/di and they're clearly fraternal so the placentas must have fused.
Its one of the reason that they took about 5 different shots of my 2 separate placentas way back at my NT scan. Good thing they did, because now they look like one on the ultrasound.
