I am pregnant with my first and want to stay home with the baby when he/she is born, so I am thinking about going thru the process of getting a daycare license. Has anyone done it? How long does the process cost and how much training is needed? I am a former nanny and ER nurse, could I count that towards it? Or do I not need a license? Am I allowed to provide care without a license?
Has anyone ever heard of the concept where 2 or 3 mothers work part time and take turns in watching the kids?
Re: Has anyone provided home daycare?
I wouldn't mind doing this but DH probably wouldn't be thrilled about the idea!
I just found this website though: https://www.marylandpublicschools.org/MSDE/divisions/child_care/licensing_branch/ofcch
HTH!
A friend and I talked about the p/t and child swap thing, but in the end it didn't work out. I also felt like I would essentially be working full-time, which I did not want to do.
I know someone else who both job-shares and kid-swaps with a friend, and it has worked out well for them for a few years now.
I watch 2 brothers, 2 days a week. I am not a licensed or registered daycare provider however.
PM me if you want more info/details.
