DH and I have reservations for dinner at PF Changs Saturday night. We haven't been to PF Changs since we moved to the boonies last June so I'm looking forward to it. One of my favorite things on the menu is the Kung Pao Scallops. Am I ok to eat scallops? Or should I just stick with chicken?
Re: Probably a stupid 1st Tri question...
I'll be honest. I'm the preggo chick who tends to break the rules because people ate whatever they wanted 30 years ago, and we all turned out fine. There wasn't this whole 'microwave your deli meat' and 'don't eat any fish' and blah blah. I have had sushi since being pregnant. I have eaten deli meat. I have most certainly had scallops. I drink coffee occasionally.
Maybe some people think that's being a bad mom?? Point being.. scallops will not hurt you. And it will not hurt your baby if you 'cheat' just one time..
Not to mention my MIL is Chinese. What do you think pregnant women in Japan and China eat all the time, especially when fish and sushi are such a prominent food item in that culture?
Eat the scallops!
Thanks ladies. i was told I could eat tuna twice a week but I didn't remember anything about other seafood. I might just eat the whole order myself along with some lettuce wraps.
I'm licking my lips now.
Just remember to think about mercury contents as well. Shark = bad. Lucky for you, scallops are ok.
I've eaten them as well.
Amen sister! If that means you're a bad mom, then I guess I should run for president of the bad mom's club.
