My friend suggested funny boxers and maybe cooking dinner. I'm looking for other ideas. I'm just not feeling creative this year. Please share if you don't mind me being somewhat of a copy cat. Hahaaha!
he's getting a card, and if I manage to make it there, a box of See's candy. I don't think he's EVER gotten me anything for Valentine's day (not even a card!) so I'm not putting a lot of effort into it. :-)
A card. I'll make a nice dinner after Alex goes to bed and give him a wink and a smile, if you know what I mean.
We always go low-key cause we both feel like we have better things to spend our money on, you know? But I better get a card and some flowers, cause I do think the sentiment is worth something. After years of being together, my DH has finally figured that out, I think... besides, I think I instructed him on that already a few days ago... ha ha ha.
his bday is TWO days before valentines day .. i'll probably get him a card .. MAYBE a gc to a speciality parts store for his camaro.
Love - a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes the eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker - Author Unknown
Usually nothing - we don't really do gifts anymore. We used to have a fondue dinner. Does he have a favorite breakfast or baked good? Or a favorite beer? Going to Bevmo is the equivalent of getting my DH flowers. Or a funny t-shirt. Or a mixed CD.
We decided a while back to not celebrate V-Day because our dating anniversary happens to be the next day the 15th. We like to go out to dinner to celebrate so we have no dishes to clean...so it works better to go out on the 15th than the 14th so it works great....oh and flowers are 50-70% off on the 15th...so it saves us lots on cash and we never have to worry about crowds!
So this year we are spoiling the crap our of ourselves because my mom happens to have the day off and is going to watch EJ so DH and I are going to get massages and then go to fondue later (we will see EJ between the 2 events). We are also using it as our "we survived the early weeks of parenthood" too...and we are planning it so we do dinner early and are home by 730-8pm when he goes down for bed and then we will go to sleep early too!!!! We are so excited.
But normally...we just do dinner and have champagne (veuve, our favorite).
We usually don't do gifts either, but I do want to do something nice for him just because it's been a rough month and he's been amazing taking care of the boys while he's been sick as well. I think I'll make a special dinner & dessert and the boys will do a nice little craft project.
Re: NBR: What are you getting DH for V-day?

Right now, I'm thinking a lump of coal would be appropriate. We'll see if he redeems himself before V-day.

I have a card for him and I am making us dinner. We're planning on just staying home and avoiding the crowds.
My MIL went out and got us some cute plates, glass', and some v-day themed pasta along with a sparkling wine cocktail.
I am getting him a t shirt and we will be cooking dinner with these heart shaped raviolis I got from Costco last week.
Considering my bday is the day before, we limit the spending on gifts and going out on Valentine's Day.
We don't do anything for v-day. Maybe I'll get him a card but that would be it.
