First of all thanks so much to everyone for all the support and encouragement! You ladies are wonderful!
So I have my first appointment with my RE tomorrow morning and everyone I've talked to says go with a list of questions but no one can seem to help me with what I should be asking! My list is very short and I'm pretty sure I am too nervous to be thinking as clearly as I would like.
help!
Re: *help* having trouble making a list
Well just from personal experience, my list wasn't that helpful. I had a list of questions about how things work, what they would want to do, etc. When I got there for my first appt they basically just wanted my history, reviewed my records from my OB and ordered the initial testing. I left heartbroken and disappointed that I didn't have any answers really. I realized later though that there wasn't a way that most of my questions could get answered in that first meeting though until they got the testing done.
That said, I did ask questions about how their office works, who I would be talking to, etc. Good luck.
After two losses, third time was a charm.
pm me for blog link
I also left my first RE appointment feeling a little disappointed. All we ended up talking about was my health history and methods/treatments that I had tried. Then a bunch of tests and labs were ordered.
I did ask how I would be monitored while on medications and I also wanted to know if my actual RE would see me at each appointment or would I be seeing a nurse or tech for diagnostics.
Good luck!

I didn't really have a lot of questions at my first appt.
it was just going over my history, and setting up any testing. then we met after that to go over other options-
Maybe ask about payments/ insurance/ etc.
You'll probably have more questions later on.
Good luck
I don't have much help on the questions. I think you will be mainly going over your history and stuff like that.
However I would definitely bring a pen and paper and take notes on everything RE runs by you. I would write down when all your tests will be. I would also ask when you might get results from your different tests and when to expect a follow up appointment to discuss the results of the various testing and get started on a plan of how to proceed.
GL with your appointment!
