If you send solids to day care, what's your method?
I think starting next week I'd like to send a little bit so they can give it to her in the morning (per pedi's recommendation). She doesn't typically eat very much so I don't even want to send a whole jar or package.
I'm thinking I'll just get the smallest little tupperware things I can, and put maybe an ounce in each one. Does that sound reasonable?
Re: solids and day care?
I think that when my DD first started solids, I would send the whole jar/container, and they 'pour' an ounce into a bowl, and put the jar back in the fridge to use later.
I forget how long solids last in the fridge but this method worked for awhile (my DD was NOT a fan of solids at first when we started at 6-6.5 months). I would just have to specify that they poured the container into a bowl before feeding (that way, the 'dirty spoon' doesn't contaminate the rest of the food - if that makes sense).
I also think your tupperware container idea would work great
I think it sounds totally reasonable. I hate wasting food and we do it so much at our house.
I would probably send a few containers with small amounts in each. If she decides to eat more one day than the next, she'll still have plenty.
Hopefully homemade but seeing as though I haven't gotten around to making it yet...probably packaged.
this is what we do, esp because Andrew was always so unpredictable and might eat 1 bite, the whole pack, or nothing at all

We do the gerber organics and they usually give her half of a package over a 2 day period after that 2 days they throw away whatever is left. It's annoying to have to waste it but it's their policy. Their homemade baby food policy is that they will only use it once and throw whatever is left away. For this reason we use packaged at day care and save the homemade for evenings and weekends. I just hate to have them throw away the stuff I've made. I'm less sentimental about the packaged stuff.
