Good articles or links on how to get labor started?

Not so much labor but ideas on how to help your body start to dialate and soften? I am not going to start this now, DH will be out of state all next week so I DO NOT want to go into labor but I just wanted to start reading up. TIA

    I'm glad you added that you were not starting now but I would wait to get things going until you are 40 weeks.  My DS was not ready when they induced me at 37 weeks for pre-e and had a horrible start to life.  I hope to make it to 40 weeks with this one.
