I am so glad to hear you had a good time. Both My Son & I were born there I can't say anyting for how my "first" stay was but my last stay was great and I felt very cared for.
Not sure how the delivery units are and it concerns me as Fairview may have to be one of my options too if I go into labor while at work. It terrifies me! I am a social worker and have watched the lack of care and bad medical decisions for my clients. It scares me! Thus, I am curious to hear others stories. Suggestions, opinions, thoughts and so on. As of now I am thinking the longer drive to Abbott may be worth it.
I had wonderful care during the delivery of my son at FV Southdale. My L&D nurse was awesome. She was so supportive/helpful during my entire labor. Once I delivered, the nursing staff was very supportive in my attempts to breastfeed. One of my nurses sat with me for a good 20 minutes offering different techniques, until I finally got LO to latch. It's because of her, I was able to successfully breastfeed. I would highly recommend delivering there.
We are going to tour eventually. How were the rooms, and staff as a whole? I was so pleased to read the other post on breast feeding assistance as this is a concern for us as well. I am sure I will have more questions once I read a bit more. Do they have birthing tubs at the hospital? Water seems to be my only relaxer.
