This may be a ridiculus question, but I'm wondering if there are any tricks to mixing up bottles. DS is very gassy / burps a lot - we are in the process of trying a new formula now. When I mix up his bottles and shake to combine power / water this creates a lot of air bubbles. Could this be contributing to his gas issues? Any advice?
Thanks!!
Re: powder formula
agree with PP...you can premake the formula. They carry formula "pitchers" at bru. You would have to warm the bottle to room temp or warmer though each time.
I found that similac and enfamil made the MOST bubbles ever. We switched to Good Start and had a ton of success with it. For one thing, the GS bubbles go away in seconds, leaving just milk. And secondly, our kids didn't have any colic or gas issues (or they were majorly minimized) when we switched to it.
If you are not going to switch formulas, try adding a couple of drops of Mylicon to the bottle itself and the bubbles will go away pretty instantly.
GL!
We used these as well. It really helped to squeeze the air out but we mixed the formula in a pitcher (always made a days worth of bottles at the same time) that way we could stir it instead of shaking.
