TTC After a Loss

Those of you that met with a RE

Hi  Ladies,

I was just wondering if you had the same experience.  I just had my 2nd missed miscarried last month.  Also, it was my 2nd D&C.  I met with a RE and they are tracking my HCG levels down to 0 and once they hit 0, they won't do certain blood tests for 6 weeks after that and has to be on cycle day 3.  I have already done the genetic testing and so has my DH(we're just waiting on results).  Anyone else have a similar experience at the RE, I wasn't sure if certain RE will do testing right away or they will all wait the 6 weeks.  They did find chromosome errors in the last miscarriage but not sure what happened the first time around.  She seems to think I probably just had bad luck twice.  I do have one healthy little boy, he's 2 1/2 and that's why she seems to think it was bad luck but I guess we will wait and see.  It just seems like forever but I guess it's better to be safe.

TIA

Re: Those of you that met with a RE

  • I'm so sorry for your losses.  I have been through 4 miscarriages myself.  I just met with a new RE today and I have to wait until cycle day 3 to get bloodwork done as well (I'm only on day 6 now)....that is to test FSH which is done on cycle day 3.  When I had all the repeat loss bloodwork done, I had to wait a few weeks after my miscarriage, until my HCG went down to 0.  I know it seems like forever, but I think waiting and getting all the results is the best way to go about things.  I am doing that now and I would much rather know that I exhausted all options and tested everything I could before having another miscarriage.

Good Luck with everything and sorry again for your losses.

After 1 IUI, 3 IVF's with CGH/CCS testing, 10 early miscarriages, and lots of tears and frustration, we are moving on to Domestic Infant Adoption!  We are so excited to see what the future holds.

  • Hey hun.  I haven't met with an RE, so I'm afraid that I can't help you there.  I wanted to suggest that you repost this.  You posted during our hour of silence.  (One of our friends on the board lost her baby and she was well into her third trimester.  It was just our way of honoring her.)  I'm sure you didn't realize it and meant no disrespect.  I just think people probably haven't responded to you because they were trying to honor the hour of silence.  I hope you find the answers that you're looking for!

ETA:  Okay, now I feel foolish.  PP and I must have been typing at the exact same time!
