Sweet taste in mouth VERY early?

Hi all.

I'm posting here because I thought you'd be the folks to answer this best.  I posted on TTGP earlier, but thought you might know better...

I don't know if I'm KU'd yet.  We've only been trying for less than a month, but...

My oatmeal tasted really weird to me this morning (I eat it at least a few times a week and know it wasn't spoiled).  Thought it was probably my imagination.  But I just ate lunch, and it tasted funny too!  I had a salad with balsamic vinegar on it, and a whole wheat roll, and both tasted ridiculously sweet to me!  I can't get this horrible sweet taste out of my mouth no matter how much water I drink!

I'm just wondering if any of you have experienced this very early on in pregnancy, or if you could even tell me if this is a normal early pregnancy symptom.  When I say "early" I mean EARLY!  As in too early to even POAS!

I'd appreciate any thoughts.  Even if one of you just cyber-slaps me back into reality, that's fine.  :)  Thanks!

Re: Sweet taste in mouth VERY early?

  • When it's too soon to POAS, it's too soon to have symptoms.  Symptoms are caused by the hormones being released into your body which is also what a HPT picks up.

  • I don't know about a "sweet taste" in your mouth, I had more like a metallic taste in my mouth in the beginning after I POAS.... GL!

  • Not trying to be rude... but you are going to get the same answers here as everyone gave you over on TTGP earlier this morning.  If it is too early to POAS, it is entirely too early to be experiencing any pregnancy symptoms.

LOL.  I am not violent.  ;)

I wish you the best of luck.  I know how waiting can be very frustrating and how it can mess with your mind.  There were several cycles I had 100% convinced myself that I was pregnant because I had "symptoms" - only for AF to show up.  Hopefully you get your BFP but try not to get yourself all caught up in the symptoms in the meantime.  Because it makes the letdown suck that much more.

  • Thanks Ryleigh.  I really appreciate the empathy and the very good advice!
