How have you convinced your dog that baby toys are not just really good dog toys you're keeping from him?
I'm 29 weeks along and starting to get more baby toys -- they all seem to be squeaky or furry and the dog thinks they are for her. At the moment it's not hard to keep everything put away because my kid's not here yet, but I wondered how others of you have handled the baby toy/dog toy thing. Do they eventually learn? Do you just have to keep everything off the floor or locked away at all times?
Re: if you have a dog...
We tell her no and she's pretty good about leaving them alone. Though I wouldn't trust her if I wasn't around.
I'm resigned to the fact that at some point, dog and baby will be sharing toys.
This is what we have done as well.
This! Even my stubborn, bull-headed Beagle/Dalmatian figured this one out. We had one unfortunate incident with a musical stuffed giraffe from Target, but some emergency abdominal surgery managed to save the little bugger. Other than that, he's been great.
