Lost Fans: thoughts on last night...?

So, did the episode answer any questions for you or just raise more - like always?!

DH totally predicted that evil guy being the smoke monster!  I think that the "native" people and Richard were the ones on the old ship that came when Jacob and his "friend" were sitting on the beach together.  Now I'm wondering why Richard was in chains???

I loved it. My brother and I kept texting each other during the show. It answered a few questions and raised more, which is something I enjoy. Ja, what is the thing with Richard in chains (which sounds hella hot, LOL, he is pretty yummy). I think you may be on to something with the old ship, I never thought of that. I like how we now know who or what the smoke monster was.

My brother brought up a good point. When everyone gets off the plane why is Desmond suddenly gone?  He was never booked on the flight to begin with. I thought maybe we were seeing the finale foreshadowed in the first new episode but now I have doubts.

    Can't wait until next week!

  • I didn't think about them showing the finale.  Good point! I thought Desmond disappearing had something to do with Charlie not dying.

This is what I was wondering about ... Desmond! Something is up there.

  • I thought it was weird that Desmond was on the flight... I'm wondering if because the bomb "worked" according to Juliet, Desmond would never have been on the island in the first place and was on that flight instead, due to all the future events changing...

I have such a hard time, though, because I forget about so many things in old episodes - like the old ship!  I never watch the recap episodes, though - maybe I should.

Yeah.  Desmond was already on the island.  I'm so glad Syaid isn't dead.  I was beginning to get pissed.   I was thinking that maybe the scenes on the plane...nevermind.  I'm still confused but will continue to watch!

  • I posted this link  in the earlier lost post but please read it.  It really helped clarify a few things for me.  Pretty much, what is supposed to happen will happen regardless if the plane crashes or not.  I.E Charlie saying he has to die, the marshall getting hit on the head, etc.

  • the "chains" refers to Richard no longer being under Jacobs rule. jacob being dead means richard is free.

desmond is living in the parallel time/world since he blew up the hatch a while back, remeber he was flashing back and forth of a life with penny?.

juliet said "it worked" and was talking about "getting coffee" b/c she had a a glimpse of herself in the parallel world with sawyer. i think in a later episode we will see her and sawyer having that conversation.

Wow, I didn't even make the connection of Desmond and Charlie!  Good call!  And I didn't think about the plane scene actually being foreshadowing.  We were thinking that a parallel universe was created or something....

  • I don't think the plane is a flash forward, but an alternate universe.  It doesn't make sense for it to be a flash forward because of all the people who are alive that had died... AND Hugo's lucky?

I want to know why the new Locke is upset with Richard.  Remember that Richard was the one that told the old Locke that he had to die to come back... so, he had a huge role in the new Locke coming to be.  You'd think he'd be grateful.

What about in the first scene how they show the island underwater?  DH thinks that the island is the lost island of Atlantis and that Richard, Jacob and the smoke guy has something to do with mythology? Idk.

    I'm soooo Lost!
