Babies: 9 - 12 Months

"Late" crawlers come in.

How late was it? LO is still not showing any interest in crawling. I even try to prop him up on his hands and knees and he just plops back down and proceeds to roll. I know there's a possibility that he may never crawl and just get walkin but I'm curious to know how late did your LO start to crawl.

  • Shane started army crawling about a month ago. He still doing that. He gets up on his hands and knees to hang out, or to rick back and forth, but he won't actually crawl that way. He'll be 9 months old on the 12th.

  • DD still isn't crawling. About 2 weeks ago she started scooting on her butt to move around but it is still a rarity that she spends any time on her tummy so I don't see crawling in our future!

  • DS started the inchworm around 10 months and then full on crawling just before 11 months. I would just enjoy what she is doing now and not rush her. Once they start, they won't stop!

  • 8 months is not late for crawling.  Kate crawled at 10.5 months.  Ben will be 10 months old on Thursday and is not crawling yet.  FWIW, I think the whole "skipping crawling" thing is overblown.  Yes, some babies do it, but it's actually not that common and is much more likely that your baby will crawl/scoot/roll to get somewhere rather than go straight to walking, just later.
  • DS is still not crawling, and not even close. He doesn't even get on all fours yet. He army crawls (backwards & in circles) and scoots on his butt while sitting. I am anxiously waiting for the day.

  • Around 10 months and he still isn't up on his knees.
  • My DD was a late crawler. She didn't start crawling until she was just over 9 months. My DS is totally different....he started before 6 months! Funny how they can be totally opposite on so many things!
  • She is still not crawling it.  It drives me crazy.  She scoots on her butt.
