Protection Plan on Stroller?

Anyone have any opinions on this? My dad just told me to go ahead and get my travel system (since I have a coupon) and he would pay me back next week. The stroller is $300, the protection plan is $30 from BRU. Looks like it's a 15 month length.

Re: Protection Plan on Stroller?

  • I would pass....just from personal experience.  The stroller will break after 16 months.

  • IMO it's a scam.  We didn't bother.

  • I listen to Clark Howard on HLN...he says never get the stores protection plan - using a credit card (usually American Express) you will often get a warranty...don't do it...
  • We got it on the crib and my glider but I probably wont mess with if for a stroller because like pp said, they dont last forever
  • I'd pass, you most likely won't use it that long.  I think the majority of the time protection plans are a waste of money.
  • Honestly if it breaks in the first year, the manufactor should fix it.  An extra couple months won't help anything.

  • I'd pass on the protection plan.. then again, we never get the protection plan when making big purchases, they rarely are worth it and are just a way for stores to make an easy extra buck!
  • I worked at a TRU/BRU and the protection plans are very benificial, you actually get the whole thing replaced if it breaks, you just bring it in but you have to buy it and then call or go online and register in 30 days, if you don't you can go back and get a refund for the BPP. Make sure you keep your reciept otherwise they can't do anything, I know that they should be able to but, since walmart and target carry a lot of the same stuff they have to make sure that the product came from the location you buy it from. And you can also get a longer BPP.
  • I never get protection plans on anything...it's not worth it.
