My only word of warning is to watch with billing- they are sometimes horribly slow!! I had a couple bills that processed over a year later. It wasn't an issue for me since insurance paid 100%, but if you have any sort of copays, it'd suck to suddenly get a bill a year later!

My friend lost her baby there last fall due to doctor error. So if you have any problems or gut feelings, go with them! The baby was in the hosptial with some heart problems and was given 2x the recommended dose of medicine for her age! Not one person double checked it, and the mom is nows having a hard time dealing w/them right now w/the malpractice lawsuit.
I don't mean to give you a scare, but you asked, and I wanted to give the truth. So glad the other gals didn't have problems. Someone else had a close friend that had a medical error at Beaumont (not sure which one) w/their baby too, it lived, but has disabilities. So I cringe everytime I hear those "do you have a Beaumont doctor" ads, especially the ones for babies.
Mine was a so-so experience. I had some good nurses, some ok nurses & a horrible nurse who made me cry (on the post partum side). I was induced & ended up w/ an emergency c/s (where they made my DH wait in the hall to get called in for it & they never did- he found out DS was born when he heard him cry). At the time, I thought it was a good experience, but I was super naive, I think. After hearing other friends' experiences @ different hospitals, I began to wonder. And, I'll be honest, after working there in L&D, my opinion has been soured. I'm delivering my next son @ HF West Bloomfield in April.
Yep, he sat in the hall, decked out in his scrubs. It was not a "real" emergency, so they told him they would get him. Apparently, he was forgotten. I'm still upset about the whole thing because he missed his son being born.
I had a good experience there. I have several visits with pre-term labor and some hospital stays prior to delivery too. I also had a 5 day hospital stay for pre-term labor at Royal Oak. I had a good experience at both hospitals.
Re: Troy Beaumont
I did and I was happy. All the staff was amazing and very helpful.

They forgot to call your hubby into the room?? I would have been so mad.
Now I am curious to hear about other hospitals.
Bronco - That is super scary. I am always amazed at how many errors occur in a hospital.
I had good experience there with my DD, nothing to complain about.
I can't believe they forgot to call DH from previous poster and this other story sounds so scary, but I am sure almost every hospital makes mistakes
