Maybe I'm a little lost here. My friend has 3 boys, and all of them have the chicken pox. Her first one had it about 2 weeks ago, and the other 2 boys finally came down with it this weekend. We were supposed to go to their house for a bday party, but didn't because of the chicken pox. But a lot of my friends are asking why we didn't come and just expose the girls, so they catch it and then don't get it when they are older. I'm just really confused because I can't imagine purposefully taking my children to a place where there's something like that, and intentionally exposing them and hoping they catch it. Maybe I'm the crazy one because I'm the only one that seems to be bothered by it. So I was just curious what you mommies think? Maybe I'm hoping you will tell me I'm not crazy:-) TIA
Re: Would you expose your LO to chicken pox?
I've heard of doing that and I think parents who have disease parties are crazy. Sorry, I'm not even going to soften that by "IMHO."
Honestly, maybe, before the vaccine.
But now that there's a vaccine, no way.
