Trying to Get Pregnant

long cycle gals...come in....

I posted this early this morning, but I don't think many people were bumping and I wanted to see if I got more of a response now.

What is the latest that you have O'd????  Just curious.

I have had a couple annovulatory cycles and my doctor wants me to start taking Provera if I haven't O'd by CD40.  I only have one more cycle after this before we start doing the test to eventually go towards Clomid.

I am just so conflicted because part of me wants to go ahead and take the Provera at CD40 so that I can move on to another cycle, but the other part knows that it can happen after CD 40.

I just wanted to get some kind of hope that people do O later than CD25.

WWYD???

Re: long cycle gals...come in....

  • This past cycle, I didn't O until CD45.

  • Hi!  Check out my chart... I'm pretty sure I ovulated on CD77.  Don't know if I'm always a long cycle girl, as this is my first cycle off BC, but this was definitely a long cycle!  I'm crossing everything I have that I actually ovulated (I had completely given up hope), but only time will tell.  I'm kind of in denial.  Oh, and check out the FF gallery, there are lots of girls who have ovulated later!

Yea I know that's really late, and I have to question the quality of the egg at that point.  I'd follow the docs orders.

yeah, I agree....I fear that if I go ahead and end the cycle that I would have done it right after...hahah....I guess it is a guessing game.

Wow...that is a long cycle.  I would have gone to the Dr. after CD 60, you have some serious patience girl!  Good luck on this cycle....it is looking good so far.

    BTW: that picture is beautiful!

  • Also, I wanted to take P around CD50, but my PCP wouldn't give me any so I had to go to the gyno and they finally gave me some. But we have a trip coming up this weekend and I knew if I took it when they gave it to me AF would go on the trip with us. So I decided I would wait until we got back to start it. Lo and behold I Od two days after I got the prescription, and needless to say I am very happy with the way things worked out. If the PCP had given my that script or we didn't have that trip I would've already taken it.
  • Oh, you better believe I was sitting in the docs office on CD58 :)  But, my doc was unimpressed since it's my first cycle off BC and didn't want to do anything and said come back if it's been 4 months !!  So... we'll see.  Ugh.

ETA:  Weird, I quoted kellinc1 when she said she would've gone to the doc on CD60, but it didn't show up.  Sorry about that.

4 months?? really?  most docs say 60 days.  I guess it pays to be patient sometimes.

Hey, yours is looking good too!  Did you test again this AM after the maybe line you saw yesterday?!?

I'm going to try to be a good girl and wait until 14 or 16DPO.  FF wants me to wait until 18DPO.  We'll see!

I know!  I called the nurse line at that office and asked if I should even make an appointment, and she said absolutely yes.  Then I get there and the doc just completely blew me off.  I had never seen her before, as I normally see a Midwife who I love there, but for this they made me see a MD, and then she does nothing.  What a waste of my time and money.

Oh well.  Good luck!  I hope you ovulate soon!

I hope so too! I've been getting some really faint positives on E-P-Ts the last couple of days, but I'm not convinced they aren't evap lines. (although that brand isn't known to produce them often, if at all) But I'll remain cautiously excited until I get a definite positive.

Thanks...that is very encouraging.  I am not sure that I have even O'd on my own because I have ended my cycles with Provera.  1st cycle on CD 68 and 2nd cycle on CD40 or so.... maybe I am just a late ovulater.  I might try to hold out until CD60 again to see what happens.

Yes, I Oed on CD45 of my BFP cycle.  I do normally O on my own, or have for about a year anyway.  I had a rough time in 2008 when I went off hormonal birth control getting my body to cooperate, but after restarting it, it was good.  I noticed someone else Oed on CD45 of their BFP cycle, so that must be a lucky O date. =)

  • Do you get bummed every morning when your temp is still low? This morning I threw my bbt across the room. DH said, "No temp rise, huh?" I'm considering not temping next month because I literally am having trouble sleeping.

GL. I'll keep an eye on you too. :)

yes, it is so depressing.  i have never O'd on my own so I have no idea which days to look for, so I have to temp the whole time.  My charts used to be super erratic so it wasn't as frustrating because they were always all over the place, but now that I am temping vaginally,  I can see a pattern.  So ...yes....I would love to throw my BBT sometimes.  I am trying not to get too upset about it as it has only beeen since Sept.  At this point, I just want to know that my body is actually doing what it is supposed to.  A  BFP would just be an awesome addition.

How long have your cycles been in the past? My longest cycle in the past 10 month or so was 36 days. I started charting this month because I wanted to find out if I am ovulating. I've noticed a few days of EWCM then dryness, repeat, repeat, repeat. How did you find out you've never o'd?

I have been charting since I went off BCP in Sept 09.  My charts have showed no sign of O and I am not getting AF on my own.  First cycle was 68 days (ended with provera) and second cycle was 40 days (ended with Provera).
