We are going to bed at 7-7:30pm, but she has been waking up a LOT at night in the past few days (i.e. was up from 12:30-2:30, then 4:30 last night) so I'm trying to figure out if there is anything I should be doing differently. Wakes up at 6-7ish. Takes 4 45-minute naps throughout the day (we follow the eat, play, sleep routine, which works really well for her).
TIA
Re: What time does your five month old go to bed?
Around 7:30-8pm.
My son just went through some weird phase where he was waking up a lot too...turns out it was a growth spurt and he was super hungry. so i fed him more before he went to bed. Maybe give that a try! Good luck!
Between 8-9pm. The few times she's gone to bed earlier than that, she has woken up around 3am.
She just coos to herself in her crib. I leave her there or put the binky back in stealthily unless she starts crying, at which point I try walking with her for a few minutes. That hasn't been working though, so when she won't go back to sleep on her own I nurse her and she goes right back down. The 12:30-2:30 time period I walked her for 10 mins, then fed her and put her back down, and she was just cooing to herself for the next hour to hour and a half.
Bath at 8, bedtime at 8:30.
DD went through a period the last several days of sleeping terribly - waking up every hour. I figured out that she needed more sleep during the day (we'd been really busy the days that she was not sleeping well), and she's been doing fine the last two nights.
7ish.
but it all depends on when she woke up from her last nap.
i have found that if she goes down before 7, she sleeps better (til 7am at least). my DD is on the same nap schedule as your LO...although sometimes she refuses her last nap, so maybe she's trying to drop it? i totally get what PP said about a 5 month old only being on 3 naps- 2 shorter and a longer- but what if LO won't take a longer nap...like ever? i want to make sure she's well rested so that she sleeps well at night. and she knows how to put herself to sleep just fine, and wakes up from her naps happy, so it's not like she can't make that transition at the 45 minute mark. hmmmm.
Between 8 - 8:30
