I don't think you quite understand what a post-csection belly looks like for some people. No amount of pilates will fix that!

Yeah no matter what I do, my stretched skin from a 9lb 15oz. baby will not go away on it's own :(

It's like this awful, saggy old man's butt hanging off my stomach. And I'm not huge! My belly just looks awful and nothing is going to fix it except for a tummy tuck. I'm not sure if I'm done having babies, so I'm waiting... but it will happen one day.

Patty is right, its quite ugly a year later and I do ab work, cardio and the 30 Day Shred.  If someone offered to get rid of my flab Id take it...when I was all done birthin'.

Yep...that's how I described mine too.  I'm hoping and praying I can have one when I'm done having kids.

  • but really, i have tummy tucks on those before and after shows (lol) and omg, they are HORRIFIC looking.
  • One of my good friends is getting a tummy tuck in april - she had her 2nd boy 2 years ago, and has been doing WW and busting butt at our kickboxing gym for over a year - everything has gone down, except this giant bag of saggy skin/middle-belly fat. I totally can see why she's ready to take a next step. She works out so friggin' hard, no love on the middle area.

Yep, me too.  I've already told MH that a tummy tuck is the works after we are finished having kids.

But octomom's went away "naturally, with hard work" and she carried 8 at once!

  • Really, this annoys me. I am 5'5, 135 lbs, work out, eat well and am in decent shape and I need a tummy tuck and I didn't even has a c/s. I still would like to lose some weight but if I didn't I'd be fine with how I look except for my stomach. I carried all out front with an 8.5 lb baby and that will do it to you. If all it took was diet and exercise you bet your a@# that I would be starving myself and hitting the gym 3x a day. It isn't that easy for some of us.
  • I'm waiting for a bunch of tummys PIP.

  • it's not even just the skin but the muscles that are permanently stretched out. One cannot re--tighten muscles that have been separated.

    surgery prevails.

Not true. I had abdominal  diastasis recti (serparating) w/ both pregnancies. There is a misconception that it is permanent. You should not do crunches the first 3 months pp, but rather follow a workout specifically created for that issue. My abs are pretty decent now.

Yeah, I'm thinking she's never seen it where the skin is a huge bag hanging from the belly.  My friend looked like she had a skin fanny pack before she got her tummy tuck.  No exercise unstretches skin.

This is corrct.  Diastasis recti can be corrected most of the time with the right PT routine--NOT crunches or sit-ups.

But if June wants a tummy tuck, what is it to Mod or anyone else?

  • i agree i'm always suprised by the amount of people who go straight for the tummy tuck, but i also don't have a clear perspective as my stomach looks exactly like it did 5 years ago - my hips on the other hand don't seem to want to go back but i don't think there's a surgery for that - lol.

do you think some of it has to do with age?  or being overweight previous to pg?  i'm seriously curious b/c i have a few mommy friends here that had their LOs in their early/mid 20s and pretty much ever single one looks rockin in a bikini.

but yeah, if you want a TT go for it
