I wish I had time to tell some stories about what would prompt me to post something such as this... but I have had that feeling like I need to sneeze all day and need to get some sleep to try to fend off a cold. I DO want to say that I almost made this clicky poll with only the numbers 9 and 10...
I got very lucky and I love my IL's--considering my DH has 4 sisters and a very involved mother things could have gone very badly had I not gotten along w/ them/ if they hadnt of liked me but the more I get to know them the more I view them as my own sisters and honestly there have been a few times that my MIL has been more "motherly" to me than my own mom (I think it just comes naturally to her having 4 daughters)
I really feel for some of you guys though--some of the stories are doozies and I give you all credit--you are much more patient than I would be!
MIL is watching DS tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday AM. So she's keeping him overnight. They take good care of DS, do nice things for both of us- like fix my computer free of charge & get DH a new BB since his cell phone died (granted, he was lucky on the timing... FIL's work switched carriers so they had a bunch of "old" (aka less than 3 mos old) phones to get rid of), and do all sorts of nice things for us all year. *once* in a while I get annoyed by something but it is very rare... so I voted "2"
Now my own family (siblings)... they'd get a 7... some days an 8. But you can't get rid of them and I do love them... just the annoyances and things they do are sometimes neverending.
Well I definitely hit the 10... and I literally can count the times on ONE HAND I've ever had to visit with them (they live across the freaking country!! YEA!) in my life.
I can't imagine them living closer. ::shudder::
And I STILL have NO IDEA how my wonderful awesome DH is a product. Never ever will I get it.

I love my ILs. I really am lucky, they are very good to me. They respect our space and dont interfere, but are always there for us if we need anything. There are times every now and again where they can be irritating, just like my own parents, so I voted 2.
I DO want to say that I almost made this clicky poll with only the numbers 9 and 10...
I'm glad you didn't! It's nice to see that more of us clicked 1 and 2 than 9 and 10. I will be eternally grateful I ended up with the ILs I did. I had some freaking doozies with previous boyfriends' mothers. Certifiable nut jobs, evil hags. My quirky MIL is a loving, kind woman.
I went for 9. MIL gets a 10, but FIl and SMIL get a 7.
MIL is a whack job and is currently not speaking to us because she is mad that DH called her out on not showing up to the boys' birthday party even after we called the night before to remind her and said she would be there. Apparently we live too far north (she is in Norwood and we are in Farifield Twp) and we have a big house. SIL and BIL did the same thing.
FIl and SMIL are normally great, but I realized this past September that it is great only if we don't ask anything of them or ask for help. Dh was having chest pains over the weekend but the ER said nothing else could be done but watching him and we were waiting until Monday for an angiogram. I had signed up for this shift for this employee event for work and didn't know if i could get out of it....in-laws called and asked if there was anything they could do to help and they wanted to some and see DH because they were worried. Totally expecting them to help - I said yes, great, please can you come at this time so that I can go to the event and get myself covered? I got turned flat down and said that they had a busy day and weren't going to be able to make it up. Um, this was less than 2 minutes after you said you were so worried and wanted to come and see him. Whatever! His good friend came over and sat with him for a couple of hours for me.

Try still having to deal with your crazy in-laws even though you're getting divorced and have nothing to do with your husband.
Being the better person sucks sometimes.
I
mine more than my own family... is that sad?
